While visiting Missouri for my son’s engagement , my husband and I went to explore the local attractions. One of the most absorbing outdoor environments we encountered was the local State Park, Elephant Rocks. Here, giant boulders (the size of elephants) litter the landscape, interspersed with mighty American Oak Trees. I was thrilled to find that even the acorn cups liberally dispersed around the base of the trunks were, like so much in America, twice the size of the British equivalent. I was compelled to pocket a few choice examples to make a new collection and help to remember such a special family occasion.
This delicate necklace was created by taking the heart of the acorn cup found in Elephant Rock State park Missori which formed this most interesting texture. This handmade piece is sterling silver, hallmarked with a toggle clasp, approximately 43cm/17in in length.
